Poems from Lion Rock! English Poems for Children by Teacher Ham Vol. 1 is the debut album of children's poetry by award-winning singer-songwriter and educator Samuel Alexander Barbour aka Teacher Ham.

I have been teaching English in Hong Kong as a primary school teacher since 2007. I am passionate about tailoring authentic materials to cater for my students' needs. Over the years I have prepared a variety of original resources for my students including award-winning drama scripts and songs and now poetry.

I recorded this set of twelve poems with a general theme of Hong Kong in mind to try and make them personal to my students. They are short, easy to remember and often make use of rhyme and repetition. The themes vary from scary to exciting to fun to grotesque and it is my hope that they will captivate students' attention and interest in listening to poetry. Let's make poetry fun and exciting for young learners.

My inspirations include Roald Dahl, Michael Rosen, Spike Milligan & Dr. Seuss for example.
